Clergy Marriage
Conferences
Jim and Carol are deeply committed to supporting the life needs of clergy. They do this by speaking and performing in sessions custom designed for the special needs of pastors and spouses. Their programming connects with clergy couples right where they’re at offering encouragement for weary hearts. It’s a ministry to the ministers.
They provide well developed, rich content, with relevant live theatre illustrations. Theres time given for husbands and wives to contextualize material as it applies to their marriage with enriching exercises that are fun and illuminating. And with a room full of clergy couples roaring with laughter, you know you’re not the only ones who are identifying with the themes. It is an encouraging and helpful time.
Have a clergy marriage retreat as a stand alone couples event or have it in combination with a Diocesan or regional event schedule - either way, it works.
Some of the Session Themes
Communicating with the Opposite Sex for Ministry Couples
How to Have a Good Fight
Simple Habits of Happy Couples
Clergy Self Care - Soul Care for You and Your Marriage

Legacy - Making a good one with your family.
Testimonials
“The Diocese of the Carolinas recently hosted a Clergy and Spouse retreat featuring Acts of Renewal and we were abundantly blessed by the impact of the way they weaved their dynamic drama and reflections together in an authentic and penetrating style. The weekend was filled with laughter, encouragement and genuine insights for our marriages given the demands of ministry in the local church. I highly recommend Acts of Renewal for those seeking to enrich marriages in whatever context you see the need.”
- Bishop David Bryan, Suffragan - Diocese of the Carolinas
“This creative, invitational, "show as much as tell" approach has surprising and significant impact! There were moments where I truly felt as if I was watching my own marriage in front of me! I was reminded and convicted by Acts of Renewal about how easy it is to fall into the trap of polishing my image (and the image of my marriage and family) as a minister, rather than doing the real, needed and good work of love in both my marriage and family. I long for my ministry calling to have genuine integrity. It does so best when it flows out of a marriage and family that truly are my primary call. I highly recommend Acts of Renewal as a great marriage enrichment resource! I am especially grateful for their heart for the marriages of those of us in Christian ministry.”
- Rev. Rick Durrance, Pastoral Vicar of Wilmore Anglican Church, Wilmore, KY
“ I recently had the privilege at our Anglican Church North America’s synod to experience the ministry of “Acts of Renewal”. Through anointed teachings and dramatic vignettes, Dr Jim and Carol Shores brought to life and clarity so many of the common struggles that those in ministry encounter in their marriages, I sensed God’s presence in our midst and grace imparted to engage a fresh loving of my spouse as Christ so well loves us the church-his bride”
- Rev. Hule Goddard, Rector, WIlmore Anglican Church, Wilmore, KY
"I have had a lot of opportunity to work with Jim and Carol in various conferences and events around the country and they really have a wonderful talent. We had them perform during a clergy conference here at Focus on the Family and they were very well received. If you have an event coming up and you would like two wonderful people who can address themselves to whatever issues you may be interested in, contact Jim and Carol of Acts of Renewal."
- Pastor H.B. London, Vice President, Focus on the Family
